Thank you for taking the time to visit my page. I currently hold a Ph.D. in Biology Education and am an Assistant Professor of Biology at Crowley's Ridge College in Paragould, AR.
My research interests are in the areas of teacher education, including pedagogical and content preparation and perspectives, and biological literacy. Many different domains tie into my perspective on biological literacy including science and/or biology anxiety and socioscientific issues to name a few. I am also a classically trained experimental biologist within genetics and biochemistry, including bioinformatics. I'm especially interested in any scenario that will allow me to merge these areas and experiences into my research.
Tied to my research interests, my teaching interests are in the realm of non-majors science courses in which I can use different pedagogical methods, such as problem-based learning (PBL), in order to guide students towards developing their science literacy skills.
If you have any questions or just want to chat, I welcome you to contact me through the link above.
